These include information technology outsourcing (ITO), knowledge process outsourcing (KPO), business process outsourcing (BPO) and software research and development (software R&D). ITO is used by technology companies. BPO refers to call centers and insurance claims processing. Software R&D revolves around developing software overseas and KPO covers areas that require skilled labor, such as accounting and investment research.
